Hyundai Tucson vs. Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage

If you’ve landed here then you’re looking for reasons why you should consider Kia over the
Hyundai Tucson. Not only has the Kia Sportage and Sorento quality proven to be timeless. Kia
shows its teeth in every category with its award-winning SUVs. So before taking to the road in a
Hyundai, don’t miss out on Kias “power to surprise” you with the 2018 Sportage and Sorento.

Awards and Accolades

Kia was humbled in 2016 by achieving 1st place beating out Porsche and winning the prestigious
J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality award. This held great significance in the automotive
market considering that for the last 27 years only premium nameplates held the #1 spot, giving
Kia outstanding clout amongst the industries crème de la crème.

Of course, we love to brag about offering the world’s best-built cars and SUVs. By comparison, Hyundai is ranked #8. The Sportage secured 1st in its segment in 2016 and 2nd in 2017, allowing the Kia Niro, a Guinness World Record holder for lowest fuel consumption of a hybrid, to have the top spot.

We know how impressive that sounds, but the Sportage also took home the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) “Top Safety Pick” in 2016, 2017, and 2018. It’s also a Kelly Blue Book “Top 10 Most Awarded Vehicle,” an Autotrader’s “Must Test Drive,” and an Edmunds “12 Best AWD Small SUVs.”   The Sorento is no joke either, in fact, did you know that it is the current IQS winner in the midsize SUV segment? Moving up from #2 in 2016 and upsetting the competition, the Sorento continues its quest for admiration by boasting an IIHS “Top Safety Pick” award in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The Sorento has also been accredited with a 5-star Safety Rating from the (NHTSA) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Red Dot Design Honorable Mention Award in 2016, and Automobile Journalists Association of Canada’s (AJAC) “Best New SUV” in 2016.

Warranty

Kia offers a standard 5 Year 100,000km full comprehensive warranty and 5 Year Unlimited km Roadside Assistance giving you peace of mind over and above Kia’s consistently proven quality. That is a full 2 years of additional warranty and roadside assistance over Toyota’ 3 Year 60,000 km warranty and 3 Year Roadside Assistance.

Equipment

Power is great and isn’t necessarily always found under the hood, for example, the Sportage’s power passenger seats, ventilated front seats an smart power liftgate makes things simple. Imagine yourself finding that perfectly cool and comfortable seating position right after you load up the groceries without fumbling for your keys. Simply stand behind your Sportage and let the smart liftgate do the work for you! If you’re looking for these features outside of the Tucson Ultimate you might be ultimately disappointed. Hoping to find safety features such as: Lane departure warning, autonomous braking, an rear backup sensors in your Tucson? Again you will have to reach up to the ultimate edition; aside from the parking sensors which are not available in this model. Because Kia offers these features and more in multiple trim levels on the Sportage, you will feel confident when choosing that perfect SUV that’s safe and fun for you and your family!

Although the Hyundai Tucson does allow you to find similar features that Kia offers there may be a few great ones you might be missing out on. Starting with the basic side of the pendulum, Sorento gives you tons of space with its available 7 passenger seating allowing you to both customize passenger configuration and storage with ease. If we want to go high tech than get your bird eyes out with your 360o camera giving you a top view of your Sorento’s surroundings, so you can see everything around you on your 8” touchscreen. When you’re ready to hit the road you can feel at ease knowing your driver seat is exactly where you want it with the driver memory seat function that will also position your mirrors back to where they are supposed to be.

So if your in the market for a new SUV checking out Kia’s top quality Sportage and Sorento is a no-brainer!

Performance

You can’t beat Kia’s unwavering quality, but let’s get down to performance. When you think SUV,  you think versatility, you want room for all, and of course, you want power! With the Hyundai Tucson’s maximum 175 hp 1.6 turbo you might have to imagine the camper behind you because of its maximum 1,000 lbs towing capacity. However, we can all feel confident behind the wheel of a Sorento with its 290 hp 3.3 L V6 engine capable of hauling up to massiv 5,000 lbs. You won’t want to forget about Kia’s smooth riding Sportage either, because of its available 237 hp 2.0 turbo it’s not enough to just imagine gripping the wheel of this award-winning SUV, you need to feel it to believe it!
